Default Storytime: I drove my first turboed hybrid tonight :)

the car was a eg powered by a gsr (with all kinds of goodies for na) and a used drag kit (i think) pushing only ~5 or so. the car runs ~14.3 or so with stock tires at sacramento raceway without the turbo and im assumming it in the 13 sec range right now.

my impression:

this smiley should explain most of it

i could almost cry right now. damn that car was fast. i felt boost from 3k and took it all the way to 8k. 1st gear was hard to control steering cause i was all over the place, i chirped 2nd for a loooooong *** time, 3rd, and a hint 4th gear. passing people with 5th gear on the freeway was f'cking amazing too

im not an experienced racer so this was the fastest car ive ever driven in my life sadly . going from that car to my 98 cx made me feel like i was driving a slug . i don't understand why some people fork out 5 grand for an ARRR when boost is 10x more fun.

ive been reading the forced induction forum for about a year now conteplating if i should go turbo. im hooked so i'll be entering the darkside in the future. i guess that once you go to the darkside you'll never go back.

thanks for reading my story

Nothing to be ashamed of. I remember the first time i drove a turbo car, you get that "boost grin" from ear to ear Seems like such a long time ago now. Good luck with the car and happy boosting.

my first drive in a turbo'd car was my friends turbo M3
this thing is ungodly fast & that was only at 8 psi
i then drove it again at 13 psi & all i had to say was OMFG
it got sideways in first & second gear but when third caught it was all over
it was orgasmic
this is why i have decided to join the forces on the darkside
plus in my opinion Type R's are overated nice but overrated
now turbo type r's are interesting
i just like type r owners who don't fall into all the hype of owning a type r
those who don't care if thier car has the latet from "Japan"
just enjoy the ride

I was afraid of boost after I drove several turbo cars. I was still afraid after friends took me for a ride in their cars...... Im not sure why but I was really anti boost until 1 day the whole thing struckme and now Im hooked and very motiviated into finishing my set up... Its gonna be interesting.

I remember mine, It was Mark C's ride. He took me through a residential neighborhood at night. DAYAAAAM I say. I might now call MArk the "VIRUS". THat ride was only the beginning.

Take 5 to 6 doses of boost pariodically, daily or as directed by your Prescriber.
CAUTION: may cause harmful side effects if not taken as directed.

The first time I was driven in a turbo car was a Yellow Accord with a fully build H22A motor in it with a nice turbo setup. I don't acutally know the size of the turbo but it was big. All I know is 18 psi of boost in that thing is unbelieveable. Then I drove a SOHC turbocharged at 10psi of boost and that thing was a little monster.
