Everytime I start a security thread it gets 3 replies then falls off the face of the earth, as if its not an important issue. but a catch can thread will go 10 pages..

There is prob a logical reason for that. I know I would not post my security set ups on a public forum. Who knows who is reading it and then once they know it makes it that much easier for them to steal the car or get around the devices. The best thing is mulitple layers of security no mater what you do they will still get it if they want it bad enough. Just depends how hard you want to make it for them to get it.

if you have full coverage otn he car and a reciept, your insurance will re-emburse you for the kit if it's not found with the car.

No because they will say it was not secured down. At least that is how my insurance is.

don't mean to stir up **** but especially if you didn't post your car and all your ideas all over the internet, see: your 'friends' and anyone who knew what you had. not that they'll ever tell you. sorry to hear it man that really sucks. you could be really vague and tell the insurance 'it had a brand new $5000 turbo kit' . good luck finding the car

i suggest you tell the insurance company its a $5000 turbo kit, but for not that car.

most likely they'll drop you for modifying it or something stupid like that

I totally understand but you dont need to go into detail as to what your security is, just bounce ideas off each other. you can say u have a bunch ofkill switches, a hidden fuel shut off switch, lojack and a bunch of other stuff, without mentioning where they are.

Depending who your ins company is do not tell them that kit was for that car. Someone called my ins company and told them I drag race my 92 civic and they dropped me. I have not been able to get ins elsewhere. Sucks ***
