Default Stock Greddy Downpipe w/ Thermal exhaust

how big is it? 2"? 2.25"?

i am asking because i want to add a thermal exhaust and test pipe to the downpipe.

what size downpipe would i need? 2.25" flared to 3"? can that be done?

thanks, sorry for all the posts about this but my new questions never seem to get answered on my old posts

if you are on a stock motor I say leave it alone as it will cause problems with creep and spiking. I run a 3'' all the way from the turbo and a 3'' magnaflow cat. I had massive spiking problems, in fact I couldn't control the boost whatsoever. The stock wastegate is way too small so either mod it or leave your setup as is.

You should be ok w/ a 3" thermal....a local member is running a 2.5" downpipe to a 3" carsound cat to a 3" thermal on an LS integra w/ no spiking issues. There's another local member that is running a 2.5" dp, test pipe, and a greddy catback w/ no spiking problems. I've also made a few 2.5" flared to 3" downpipes, some w/ 3" test pipes and some w/ 3" carsounds. As far as i know of none of them had any issues

as of now, since this is my daily driver, i am going to keep the stock cast elbow and DP

does anyone know where i can get a 2" to 3" test pipe with o2 bung? kteller doesnt make that big of a jump.

the stock cat is 2.25 correct? so couldnt i do a 2.25" to 3" test pipe and have it fit correct?

If you know anyone w/ a welder and a chop saw or can find someone/place to do it you can build you're own flared dp. You can do it a few ways. To save you from hacking up your existing setup.....buy a 2.5" 3-bolt flange, a 2.5" 90 deg bend, a 2.5" to 3" reducer, an o2 bung, some 3" straight piping, and a few 3" 3-bolt flanges to make this: (just picture a test pipe instead of the high flow cat )

Or you can just buy a 2" to a 3" reducer, and flare your existing greddy dp to a 3" test pipe and bolt that on to your thermal. Another idea would be to purchase a testpipe for your application and just flaring that to meet the 3" thermal....seeing as the greddy kits are bolt on, finding a testpipe to mod shouldn't be too hard. Goodluck

that's the easiest, but building the downpipe back would be more beneficial

if you're keeping the 2" dp and just flaring the testpipe you should be ok
