Stock fuel setup will blow it up ?
Well, just in time for my road trip to Tampa this past Memorial day weekend, my FMU goes 'Splat' and starts leaking fuel. When the problem was ID'd, one of the rubber disks (smaller of the two) was ruptured badly and the FMU is basically scrap right now. So my first couple weeks back up and can't even boost. I have the MBC down all the way (which doesn't seem to do shart) I am driving her really easy, but she gets into boost (about 2-3psi max) from time to time. Now given that the stock fuel system is in place (stock injectors, pump, filter, rail) with no aftermarket support aside from a B&M fpr... is it safe for her to go into the low boost that the motor sometimes sees ? I have heard no signs of detonation and still run 93 oct. (almost 9.0:1 compression)
I would like to disconnect the charge pipe totally, but heard it can damage the turbo if it just blows free into the air.
I should be doing fuel upgrades as my next step (money is tight now) and I am researching that, but I am looking for an answer/consolation in the mean time.
Any suggestions ?

I think you'll be fine if you take it real easy, however, I personally wouldn't risk it. Fuel is one of the most important factors when you are talking about boost. I suggest you don't even drive the car and get your car fixed.

Well, it' my only car right now, so that's out of the question.
I guess I would need to bump up the fuel pressure a bit to ensure SOME level of safety, but without an FMU, I'm wondering where to set it.... I mean, it's rising rate, so it should be able to help some.
Does no one have an answer ?

Ya, but the only problem is my sheetee WG and MBC can't seem to hold the boost down... with the FMU (when it wasn't broken) I tried to run minimum boost and it would go all the way to 5 psi at which point, I backed off knowing I could not keep it at about 2, where I wanted it to be.

Mechanically rig your w/g to stay open if you have an internal one, take your w/g off if you have an external one. It'll sound like *** with that exhaust leak, but you won't boost.

a boost controller can only raise boost, it can not lower it anymore then the stock psi rating on the wastegate. fyi i ran with a fmu and no fuel pump... i was lean at 4psi. if you arent even using a fmu... i wouldnt risk it at all.
