Default stiffer spring for greddy internal wastegate?? please help/already searched.

here is my setup:
z6
19t greddy kit
neptune.

i am unable to get more then 17 psi out of my turbo.
i believe that the exhaust is pushing the flapper open at 17 psi.
no matter what MBC or EBC i use, i cant get it above 17psi.

so i capped the line goin to the wastegate, it still opens itself at 17psi.
i think it is doin this because the springs in the diaphram (sp? ) isnt strong enough to hold the flapper closed at 17 psi.

i did a few searches and i came up with one link:
http://www.horsepowerfreaks.co...ators
these have a stiffer springs in the actuators .... from what i gather.
has anyone used these ^^^^

is there anywhere else to get a actuator with a stiffer spring, that will bolt up the greddy 19t turbo?

is there anyway to stregthen the spring that is currently in my actuator?

please keep the "that turbo isnt good that high" or "ditch the greedy kit and get a _____ kit" comments outta here.
i have a gredy kit and i want to max this turbo out and see what it will do.

thanks in advance for anyone help

there isn't anything you can do about your spring. well short of getting it rebuilt of which there is only one company in cali and i have no clue what the name of the company is since my wastegate was rebuilt there but through a middleman. you could probably request a different sized spring when it gets rebuilt. otherwise i'd order one of the greddy universal replacement wastegates.

my friends b18 with greddy kit was able to hit 20+lbs.

if this is the case, wouldnt any actuator work?
i could get a dsm (or any other internally gated actuator) and redrill the holes, and bend the arm to fit?

anyone think this will work?

yeah it should work...but involves more work than i care to do. i have a brand new dsm wastegate if you feel like retrofitting it.

one other thing you might be able to do is get a 'helper' spring to place on the outside of the wastegate to help keep it closed. attach one end to the actuator and find another spot to put the other end so it won't fall off. it will probably help keep the flapper shut and i think a few of the wrx guys do this for their wastegates.

has the wastegate flabber or hole been bored open at all, i am guessing it has with all the boost you are running. also you could try using a duel port internal wastegate. or switch the whole thing over to external and max the son'bitch out. just my 2 cents

epic1si - im interested in the helper spring.
got any links?

also im me about the dsm actuator

urbansi- the wastegate is not ported.
from my understanding porting a wastegate was supposed to make the boost more consistant (which i have never had a problem with, im using a Greddy Profec B Spec II )
