States without Emission Testing?

Hey guys I'm just curious what states do not require emission testing every 2 years... I'm in MD and it's just a pain in the ass to do this every other year... I've done it now for 6 years, getting an exception waiver every time because my car is too low to fit on the rollers... But still figured I would ask since I can remember both Nebraska and Iowa didn't have this stuff and their imports were running 120+ fuel on the streets... If you followed behind either a nice import or muscle car you would be light headed from the fumes!

Just wanted to gather a list of possible places to move to in the future... I love Maryland, but to much bureaucratic BS happens here, and if I started looking to move somewhere this would be a question I would have about emission testing...

So list them...

Later guys,

Thanks guys, keep it up!!!

Are you sure about Virgina? I could have sworn they are worst than MD?

I'm pretty sure West Virgina doesn't, but PA does... Anyone know about Delaware?

Good point, and your probably right about most of the Republican states not having it!!! Democrats = Tree Huggers, and the main reason why we are not drilling in Alaska or other Gulf of Mexico sites... And to top it off I'm Democrat, but looks like I'm voting Republican again!!!

drilling will NOT relieve the price of gas

Someone should make an official "state with no emission" thread. It'd be nice to see what states does or doesn't do it.

Florida's Gov. Christ (R) actually is looking at bringing in C.A.R.B. regulations http://is.rely.net/1-92-30009-l-tEzP...BTGi0jOCgA.gif

Never said it would... But it would make us less dependent on foreign oil! And over time it will offer more jobs for US workers... All big positives...

Anyways back to what states don't require emission testing!!! I just talked to a buddy of mine from NC and he said it's county to county down there... So if you like in a city with a small population/farms chances are you don't have to worry about it...

Keep it up guys, and thanks for the input!

I forgot to mention only one county in Md does not require "sniff testing or smog testing" and I believe it's Caroline county... Which is nothing but farms and corn fields, I guess the state figures the farmers are not worth messing with...

Indiana also does not require emissions certification, or safety inspections for that matter. And, only one license plate is required, facing the rear of the vehicle.

Re: Re: (IN VTEC)

there's certain county's in Missouri that only require a saftey inspection, luckly my uncle lives in one of those county's so i just got the car registered at his place, otherwise i'd be screwed.

North Dakota doesn't require anything...hell i dont even have a cat on my car and yet nobody cares. Plus, we have E85 for $2.99 a gallon. Its pretty much the best place to live for that reason....

Of course increasing supply would decrease the price, schmuck. Do yourself a favor and think through this stuff before you follow what is said, by ANYONE, mindlessly.
