**UPDATE!!!** Started on my little project ;) GSR Turbo install
So i started my turbo install a week ago and so far everything is going really well. I'm not too far along but i'm getting excited so i thought i'd post up my progress pics. About a week ago i pulled all my stock exhaust off, removed the front bumper, and took out the radiator and intake. Today me and my friend took out my a/c and mated the SLS Shorty with the 57 trim https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emwink.gif I absolutely cannot wait till spring...i'm shooting for 350 whp.
Let me know what you think! Dan Update!!! Intercooler is on along with most of the piping. Tial bov is on along with the dp. Feed line is also set up but the return is gonna take some time to figure out https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emwink.gif Just the wastegate and a few odds and ends to wrap it all up! I'm really happy with how it's all coming along and everything is going smooth...so far lol. https://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d...U/DSC04516.jpg https://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d...U/DSC04517.jpg https://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d...U/DSC04518.jpg https://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d...U/DSC04519.jpg https://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d...SU/1230075.jpg https://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d...SU/1230074.jpg https://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d...SU/1230073.jpg https://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d...SU/1230072.jpg https://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d...SU/1230071.jpg https://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d...NSU/123007.jpg Modified by GSROWNSU at 9:19 AM 12/31/2007 |

No, I rebuilt the block this summer. JE pistons (-1.17 dish), all new main and rod bearings...all of them blueprinted, polished crank, bored to 81.5mm, fresh hone, arp headstuds, cometic headgasket, and hondata intake manifold gasket. |

Good stuff https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif . What's the rest of the setup? I'll be watching this project. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/embeer.gif https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/embeer.gif

I have the same SLS shorty and love it. I can't wait to see more progress AND some dyno numbers for this thing. You can make a lot more than 350whp on that setup provided you have the fuel to do it...

looks good dan i remember meeting u a while back i have the 4088r ssbp dc2 and b4 that had the 35r ssbp dc2...

Sweet setup. You'll love it.
Holy hell, though, that wastegate is huge for 350whp. |
I like the whole setup and i think you did a great job picking out parts that work well together. My only concern would be with the injectors...550cc's are going to be getting close to max at or soon after 350whp.

Are you not going to use any exhaust system? why is that? ^^a 38mm would have been fine for that turbo/manifold combo, but it doesn't hurt to go bigger.
To the OP: I hope you plan to run an exhaust because i can tell you first hand that open downpipe gets REALLY old fast. I had 2 setups with open DP for a while (2.5" and 3") |
that's not my setup that's SMRCRX's setup....i knew he was going to confuse people when he took my list and changed it. I am running a full exhaust 3" with a magnaflow muffler. Yea i wanted to go with a 44mm to avoid any chance of boost creep with lower boost...yea i spent more and it may not have been needed but o well. My setup is as follows
SLS Shorty Manifold T3/T04e 57 trim 3" Downpipe Custom exhaust 3" all the way back Tial BOV Tial 44mm wastegate Spearco intercooler RC Autoworks Charge pipes RC 550cc injectors Walbro 255 lph fuel pump Hondata s200 on a p28 PLX M300 wideband |
720cc's and it'd be perfect for your goals https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Yea i am considering upgrading to 720's but i don't wanna get too crazy so i might just have it tuned until the 550's are being fully "used" but not maxed out. Maybe a little less than 350 whp. We'll see how it goes |
Diggin' the manifold

I'm not saying it is a bad thing, just making an observation. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emwink.gif And last time I checked, a 57 trim isn't a big turbo, so I don't know what you are trying to say. |
