Stage 1 complete. Block broken down and ready for build up. (PICS inside)
Got this block REAL cheap. Its from a GS-R with very low miles. Spun a bearing.
Here are the pics of breaking it down to bare bones. Sending it to Golden Eagle very soon for re-sleeving and balancing.
theres me...and i did it all with my trust craftsman wrench..lol
the crank and pistons. Does anyone know why the bearings have different colors on them? I know you order the bearings as too what color they are, but why not just have all universal bearings? They all "look" the same.
all the nuts and bolts.

I think Honda does the bearing like that for balancing purposes. Im not sure, but that looks like a good answer. lol

yeah, i was just told from this same thread in the ITR forum about the colors by D
:bearing shells are different thicknesses (hence the colors), you use different sized bearing shells to get the correct clearance on your journals.

you really need to pick up a Helms manual. I dont wanna hear about this motor going back together without that.

i use tupperware bins and those exact siplocs (well i couldnt find the small ones last time!

I work for a Acura dealer...we have every Helms manuel out there.
I wont be putting it back together anyways...my mechanic will be along with the machine shop.
