Default SS Turbo Manifolds (B-Series), any good?

http://www.turbocalculator.com...1-002

shows b-series turbo manifolds.

Does anyone know if these are any good?
Are they A/C compatible?
What other hardware (not the turbo itself) I need to get if I bought these (flanges, gaskets or anything)?
Are these for t3/t4 setups?

those are the chinese(?) ss autochrome / spark racing manifolds. They crack. They are junk.

They also go for half that price or less on ebay.

Spark Racing? Spark Racing is a reputable company that sells name-brand parts and services. A mistake maybe?

Spark racing does sell reputable stuff, but they also sold these manifolds like 3 years ago.

ssac:

turbo calculator:

spark racing (only pic I can find):

spark one is a little different, but I've seen people complain about them cracking just the same.

I totally agree with you. I had a spark racing manifold last year. The wastgate pipe broke off the manifold, the collector and all the runners cracked twice last year. looked like **** after it was welded over and over. The funny thing was the car was mainly used for the track and the car was only used for around 500 miles with all these problems.

first off... all ssac manis are ****... turbocalculator is a sister company of ssac, stay away

secondly... the spark racing mani is a much better mani than ssac... they have a true collector along with thcker metal and really nice tig welds....

tubulars crack if they aren't supported. if you buy one you'll have to make a brace or two that mounts onto the short block.... search in here enough and you'll find pixs of how to!!!

good luck!!!

BMCRace.com has a stainless tubular log manifold that's ac compatable for $260, minus the H-T discount (IIR 10%). They also have a mini-elf that's $460 w/ac and wastegate flange, but for ~$250 more you can get a ramhorn that'll net you much better spool and upper rpm power. Get the log then upgrade to the ramhorn later.

I had a SSautochrome manifold on my B16A2 turbo setup and it lasted 1 summer of driving. I took the setup off and sold the car...so it never broke on me...but time span was about 4 months.
They only look good when new....once you start using it...it will turn yellowish goldl.
