Spent all day digging out car for buildup...
After an hour or two, I finally got my car back into the garage. Anybody think its a good idea to get familiar with the EMS on my stock B18B before installing my built engine? That is what I plan on doing, and will probably have the car running in two weeks
Heres some misc. pics....
I started with this:
Finally out!
tube chassis shots
more tube chassis shots
gotta love the X
so ya, would learning the ropes of the EMS on the stock B18 be a good idea? I figure if I pop it, itll only be a $300 block versus a $1500 block...

that cant be a street car, actually what are you building the car for?? with the front end cut up like that you cant run any street class' and you dont have a one piece nose so im guessing your not running hot rod class and for the street well, i wouldnt get in it.

Yes I built that all on my own...somehow, "Post pics of your partial tube chassis street driven cars!", doest apply to most people LOL just playin
On the safety factor, you should have seen the front end before I did this. I can almost guarantee this is safer than before.
It was in a 30mph head on, and some ***** wrinkle tried to fix it without a frame staightener. Then he sold it to some local riceboy(me 2 years ago:crook. The pass side sat 1.5 inches lower than the drivers side in reference to the shock towers...now they are eve, and I have my bodylines back

Yep definately learn the Aempro software on the stock motor - much more room for error. I have been using the EMS for 5-6 months now and I'm still learning. It is an awesome system though - it can do amazing things - you do have a wideband o2 though right? Can't remember if that was listed in your sig - if not, I wouldn't even touch a standalone system without one.

Oh ya, I will have a wb02 by the time its ready. Im building my own from some DIY yourself site(not Techedge)...only costs about 225 with all the parts including the O2 sensor. I wish I had a dyno up here I bet I could easily smash the 300whp mark on stock block
the stock block would be better to do becuase its ready to go...no break-in. So if I start it up for the first time and I have all 8 injectors firing for some reason during idle, it wont wash out the cylinder walls along with any chance of a good ring seat...
were gonna have to share some ems tips I think. I know my way around the AEM Pro sofware pretty well, But I havent touched AEM Log...should be interesting eh?
