Default spark plugs for 13.0:1 compression + nitrous?

im currently using ngk bkr7e on a 2.0L 13.0:1 compression on E85. its gapped to .032. just got done hooking up a single fogger for 75shot to the car. it's my first time with nitrous so i want to make sure im on the safe side. planning to use the s300 to retard ignition by 4 degrees, have the AFRs around 12-12.5. u guys think i can stick to the bkr7e or should i go a step colder? the 8's only come in iridium. i can use the ngk 4554, but they said dont use the non-resisted plugs with the s300. any suggestions is appreciated

You can still use the 7 heat range for just a 75 shot. I dont think you need to even consider 8s.

With a 13:1 c/r though ? I think 8's (NGK ) would be a good starting place personally. My old NA 12.5:1 liked 8's and that was purely a NA setup.

yea I've seen some NAs alone run 8s, the 7s I have seems fine, but might be a tad hot. at the same time, like Muckman... I've seen high hp cars use 7s. would like to stick with the bkr7e if possible

I prefer to be slightly colder then slightly hotter, so i would go with the 8's.

yea i rather do slightly colder also. are you guys using the NGK #4554 for the 8's? any choices for the 8 heat range, resistor, and copper instead of iridium?

if your just tuning you an run #8 coppers, but the iridium's are always better in the long run. Just a waste of money if your gonna be dumping plugs left and right though.

With the static compression ratio of 13:1, I would highly suggest going with an 8 or even 9 range when using N2O.

BTW I got a few BKR8EIX iridium and NGK R7433-9 hand assembled iridium race plugs. Hit me up if you are interested.

I would run 8s and go richer...

11.5s to 12.0 on nitrous with e85

4 degrees retard is safe
