spa cast top mount discontinued??
ive been planning my build(ls-t) for about six months now, i finally got some income flowing but to my dismay all the spa top mounts are out of stock and im freaking out because that was my ideal manifold for my ls im building up fyi ls block, 81.5 mm cylinder walls, cp 10.5:1 cr pistons, eagle h beams, ported and polished bare head, awaiting funds. Back to ?? anyone know if there discontinued or out of production for good?

Look into a mini ram style manifold. Better spool and top power increase over cast manifolds. They can be had for anywhere from $400 to $500.

You can still source one or there are knocks offs which still work. And Mac there is nothing wrong with the cast top mounts in fact they flow very well and make great power. Unless you've used one and can say you had an issue then don't down it. I've ran one and my buddy is running one and we made over 400 on bone stock gsr motor. They are a good design for saving space, ease of working on turbo and optimal wastegate placement.

Re: spa cast top mount discontinued??
I had an spa on a built type r motor years ago, on a precision sc61 car made horrible power, couldnt figure out why. Turns out the spa manifold wouldnt flow well enough and was causing "reversion" is what my tuner said. I put a ramhorn tubular manifold and to my suprise fixed my problem.

I know people will continue to use them, and they're definitely better than the eBay nonsense, I just really couldn't stand the design. I didn't mean to ruffle feathers or cause issues for those that particularly favor them..

Re: spa cast top mount discontinued??
thanks for the advice i actually like the spa top mount because of the short runner length which to my knowledge= faster spool plus its cast so the longer i can run it without cracking the better, and the way it locates the turbo even thought the dp seems to be somewhat of a PITA ive seen the mini ramhorns too but ill probably try the godspeed look a like if that fails mini ram it is

Why not go with a log manifold?i loved my log. You can get a spooling or even go cheap with a cast iron one.the sp manifold will give you what you want.

But you can either "hope" or move on to something a bit more universally convenient. Good luck.

You don't need anything special to run that manifold. On fact your don't even NEED the clocking flange it's just preferce if you want turbo straight or angle. I know in a DC chassis and Ek chassis you can maintain ps and ac and not use a clocking flange but you can also use one and still have no clewrence issues and maintain ps and ac and make plenty of power and spool well and have excellent boost control

Cali dad has made a bit over 500 he with a spooling log . To me a cast manifold is ugly period. But that's just my opinion

I should have been more specific, It has nothing to do with what a turbo flows, since the manifold is before the turbo. My issue was that with the mild port of the type r head and the little more aggresivness of the type r cams, It was trying to move more air out of the head then the manifold would allow.

Re: spa cast top mount discontinued??
By the time im even at 450+ ill most likely switch over to a tubular top mount anyways, for now im just going with the cast top mount. This is all going in a da btw engine bay room is kinda, well shitty so no go for the log.

Re: spa cast top mount discontinued??
All i know is it didnt work for me. Swapped to a tubular manifold, no other changes at all. And it made power just fine. Im just giving my personal experience with this specific manifold.
