Default Sooo I misshifted...and im pretty sure something is ****ed

So im in 3rd at 6000RPM and shift to 4th. But it doesnt go in 4th. It goes in 2nd. 11,000RPM sounds sick but not good for a stock GSR motor.

SO i pull in a parking lot, and its idling real rough. Like its running on 3 cylinders. So I do a spark test, all 4 cylinders are recieving spark. I check the plugs, all of em look fine . Running short on time, I make my way home. Driving is fine, it doesnt hesitate or run rough like it would if an ignition component was fucked up.

Any ideas?

btw car is a boosted stock gsr, tuned with neptune 550 injectors

If this is the first time you've done it, I wouldn't be TOO worried about it, at least I wouldn't think so. You may have just starved it for oil that one time and once it sits and cools down and you run it again it may be alright, just be careful with it that's all. Anyone else have an opinion?

Most likely a couple bent valves. If you have adjustable cam gears see if they have moved. And yes it is possible that it jumped a tooth also.

A compression test would be good, but a leakdown would be better....do that if you can. Sounds to me also like you floated some valves and smacked them.

My friend did this yesterday with his boosted ls. Shifted from 3rd to 2nd at 90mph...thankfully the engine was alright.

i agree a vac guage would be an indicator of valves being fucked... Id be willing to bet compression test is gonna make ya sad,, shitty, i did the same thing with my boosted f series. got lucky, but nowhere near 11k, 9 i think...lol but it idled fine and comp was still good</TD></TR></TABLE>

compression test done today. 180 180 150 110. ****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i boguht some valves and a headgasket. hopefully the guides arent damaged

Pull off your cylinder head before buying anything, like new valves you possibly might need a new head after you see the damage.
