Some Minor Questions Before Boost (Yes Again)
Just a couple of quick basic need-to-know questions I guess you would call them and thanks in advance:
1.) Since I'll be adding a part that obviously needs oil...should I add a little extra oil to compensate for the oil that has to run through the feed line/turbo/return line? Maybe something like just a half-quart or less???
2.) Now I've ordered part # 6097 from sparkplugs.com they're the NGK BKR7E and I'll be gapping them to .030, will I still need to retard the timing approx. 4 or 5* ? Or is that the point of going with a smaller gap/colder plug?
3.) On my HKS BOV, there is a steel nipple that comes out from the side, probably about 1/8"...I know that's where I'll be hooking up the vacuum to, however at the end of the BOV there is a tiny little plastic nipple that is about 1/2'' long and 1/16'' wide or less opening..I was wondering if ANYTHING had to be hooked to that or of that was more to run to a boost gauge. If it is, I would be ecstatic because I'd prefer it to be from there instead of at the wastegate so that I know how much boost is actually getting to my motor.
Thanks again everyone and let me know your opinions and/or facts.

just fill it with the normal amount of oil. and run your boost guage somewhere off the intake manifold. and don't do anything to your timing until you take it to a tuner

Re: Some Minor Questions Before Boost (bart2546)
1. i add a bout half to 2/3rds of a quart extra.. why? it has to do extra travel now.. feed line/return line/turbo.
2. timing is something for tuner to decide. i run stock timing and ecu maps are programed to do the rest. i assume you're going to run chrome/hondata or something like that. if you're planning on getting the car tuned, then do'nt boost until its done
3. hks has the metal fitting, that goes to vaccum source from intake manifold, the use o ring and snap ring to hook it up to the pipe - nothing else to it. i do'nt konw what the other fitting you're talking about.. its probably a t fitting?? you boost gauge shouldn't be hooke to wastegate anyway.. it should run off intake manifold to keep things simple
