Some blow by, should I use a different oil, opinions??
After my rebuild, I have been using mobil 1 10w30 oil and I have been getting some blow by. Leak down numbers come back good, wondering if changing to a non-synthetic oil would help. Something that isn't so "slippery". Just wondering what yours guys opinions are on this and any suggestions for a different oil.

I am curious too, because after i did my boosted setup at like 65-70k on the motor I started running Valvoline 10w30 synthetic blend, because I heard going to a full synthetic might cause my seals to leak

some engines may or may not leak when you go from dino to synthetic oil; depends on the miles and condition;
and no changing oil won't cure blowby; if you have blowby and good compression its your pcv system. honda oe pcv's suck; get a catch can w/ an oil drainback and source of vaccum (ventri effect in the exhaust or turbo inlet).

I thought catch cans weren't that effective on D series, correct me if i'm wrong though.

I don’t see why it would be any different </TD></TR></TABLE>
I just used this persons engine bay for an example, not sure whos it is. The most effective way to run a catch can is like in the pic below, the only problem is that the D series doesn't have that 2nd nipple on the block.

theres a couple of different ways to go about setting up a catch can so that u can with any motor. Easiest way would be to put another nipple or perhaps 2 on the valve cover and run those to a can.

My Z6 block
Catch can's help on any setup in my opinion.
Did you break the engine in with regular oil (Non-detergent preferred)?
