Default Solution to my D-series headlift problem...

ARP'd the bitch!

Did some highway testing with the ARP and new OEM head gasket, pulls like a freight train now and no more pushing coolant out the reservoir.

i did the same thing. but i also had my head resurfaced and cleaned. you really should do that as long as it hasnt been resurfaced before. or at least have te machine shop check it for straightness.

Judging by the way the edges of the holes for the oil and coolant passages looked, it's been resurfaced before... that's why I didn't. I just cleaned it up really good myself.

You will regret that soon.

yeah true should get it checked but the car is his daily driver.

Good job should hold well i think the main problem is the ignorance towards Block gaurds.

Looks good, but you have only solved part of the problem. When The head lift the first time it may have warped. You should have had the head checked atleast cause mind did(warped about .004"). also from what I have gathered...Y8's need alot less timing than Z6's. Head lifting and H.G problem are more common with Y8's. I run 20 degree's total timing at 11 psi on my Z6 and planning on running 17 degree's at 15-16 psi. Also forgot to mention..I sunk my G.E block guard almost an inch below the deck. Good luck.

I don't know what the total timing is unless someone can tell me how to view the maps without the Rom editor or how to find out through the Hondalogger.

open your bin in hondata and take a screen shot of your low and high cam timing

timing is a bigger issue for us y8 guys then headlifting i think

but then agian the head lifting could be caused by our timing as well

i do not believe that the head lifting has anything to do with the head bolts/studs.

it looks to be more of an issue with timing.

my 10.5:1 mini me on 10psi ate 2 head gaskets. after the second i pulled the head and checked both it and block for warpage. nothing

bolted it back up with new oem honda tty head bolts, at stock tq specs, and put it back on the dyno.
made some changed to the timing maps (pulled a couple deg, and ran it a little leaner) and have had no issues since then, and my power is off a couple hp.
i have run it on 12psi a few times and still no issues.

timing is the issues.

Not uberdata, Hondata S200B with datalogging.

Thanks for the offer, but I have to get the file off the chip first somehow.
