sohc vtec greddy kit being a pain in the ***...fitment problems, common?
I'm installing a sohc vtec greddy kit on my buddies 92 hatch, and the damn compressor outlet is too close to the oil drain tube connected to the turbo. You can either have the drain tube hose on, or the pipe connector for the charge piping...both dont fit. Rotating the turbo doesn't help. Is this a common problem in these kits?

i think i got what ya meant
and yes, it's very very tight between the pipe and the oil drain hose
so what I recommend is before bolting the exhaust manifold to the engine, assembly the whole thing first, assembly the turbo to the exhaust manifold, including the drain hose and the pipe
THEN you move the whole thing to the front of the engine and start bolting it to the engine
it's easier to do it this way... or else you will have a hard time layng under and try to put that pipe and hose on...
Steve at http://www.turbocivic.net actually did it your way, then his friend and him discussed it's easier to work as i did...
but he still didn't change his instuctions
good luck

We were doing it that way, it's seems physically impossible to get them both on, unless there's some trick to it, there's no way in hell they'er both going on.

no no, the oil drain tube(fitting) connected to the TURBO. It's like 2 or 3 mm away from the compressor, and both the piping connector and oil drain hose wont fit on...only enough room for one.

as was recommended, put as much on before you actually bolt the manifold to the car

It's the greddy coupling, so however thick that is. To give you an idea of how tight it is, if you put just the coupling on, it's already touching the oil drain tube (fitting). I've noticed the tube weld onto the flange looks man made...could it be a flaw you think? I should of taken pics yesterday dammit.

i am 100% it will fit if you put everything on before bolting it to the turbo
put the coupler first, then the hose, then the pipe....
jus try as many different methods as you can..
it will fit if you have done the right things at all steps...
good luck
can you even fit in just the coupler and the hose??

Tried that the first time also, no go. Thanks for all the help though, I think I'm going to have to send him off to a shop and see if they can do anything.
