SOHC TURBO setup: i need your help + a few questions
ok, i have 2 dilemmas... i'll just get right to the point
1: i have a D15B with a 15G greddy kit and i'm having problems with boost dropping after 4800 rpms... it hits 7 psi around 4799 and after that, i can feel a power loss while the boost is dropping from 6 psi to 5 psi... to 4 psi... i'm using the stock greddy internal wastegate, no boost controller... what can i do to prevent that boost drop ??? as far as boost leaks go, i havent found any as far as when i looked through all the charge pipes/couplers
2: is there a dramatic hp difference as far as boosting a D16Z6 vs a D15B... is it worth it to buy pistons n rings for the 1.5L ?? or should i swap that out to a D16Z6 and throw pistons/rings on that ?? just curious... also, i said to myself that i was completely done with my car... it put down 147 whp / 158.2 lb ft torque (it may not be much, but it suits my driving style)... considering i'm using the shitty greddy 2" downpipe... is it worth the few extra bucks to slap on a 2.5 inch down pipe ??? i know it'll spool alot quicker, just wondering if its worth it and what kind of whp gains i should expect with that
i appreciate the help guys
