SOHC turbo how much does it hurt your milage?
Geting 35 mpg with my 16DZ6, adding a greddy intercooled turbo and 7-8psi. How bad will my milage be if I tune it good. Seen where gas may go to $3/gal

Depends.... in city I even got better gas mileage after installed turbo (if you don't slam it all the time)!
But even if I slam it... compared to before (when also slamming it), it's still better mileage!
Dunno yet for open road tho....

It also depends on your tranny. When i had a DX tranny, z6 motor, 12psi t3/t4, i would get almost 45mpg on the freeway. On a drive from san diego to texas i was getting 410 miles on 10 gallons of gas, cruise control set at 80-85mph.
Ive found the turbo really doesnt hurt gas milage much - only if you keep your foot in it.

My CRX stock was 38-39 Freeway only.
Boosted D16 CRX was best of 35-36 Freeway only.
Current Boosted B16 CRX is best of 33 Freeway only. (LS tranny Mileage , Racing )

What he said.
I get 33mpg in a bad mood (don't speed when angry) and 22mpg in a good mood.
Greddy turbo, creeping to 11 psi , blue box

Exactly, it shouldn't hurt gas mileage at all, unless you're boosting. This is the beauty of a turbo 4 cylinder vs. a high displacement V8.

I plan on a greddy setup with a low boost but quick spool. I will be using uberdata instead of emanage.
I am hoping to get enough boost at 2300 rpm that I can go with 17 inch wheels and still have enough low end torque to cruise around in 4th and 5th gear. I just hate to see these turbo 4 cylinder setups for daily drivers that are gas hogs, I mean if I wanted that I would put a V8 in. I almost bought a turbo diesel VW, they have like 150 ftlbs torque and get 45 mpg. But they are a bitch to work on and have reliability problems so I went with a Civic which has endless potential, great parts availability, and excellent reliability.

my d16y8 used to get about 35+ miles per gallon per tank when i was NA.
With a greddy kit tuned to 7 psi and mostly stop n go driving i get about 32 miles per gallon.
Then again i dont suggest taking your car out to the E marker very often. You never know what junk is settled down at the bottom of the gas tank.

Re: (scttydb411)
Have yet to do a FULL tank (F-->E) on my greddy kit (bluebox fmu) but so far... with the heavy right foot... milage SUCKS ballz... plus a little bit extra burnt while idling after hard runs.
