Default SOHC DSM T25 qustions (searched)

Hello all..

i have a few questions that are still un answered.

This is my setup.. stock high milage D15 OBD1 Hatch. Trying to put in a T25 custom piping to retain AC. (custom manifold, IC and charge pipes)

The DSM 2nd Gen T25 is 8 PSI actuated ( best of my knowlage ).. what are my optoins to keep the cost down?

if i only plan on puttin around town, NEVER red linning, or abusing my little G ride.. can i get away with stand alone engine management? and a few check valves for the MAP?

FUEL? FMU? nessisary? 5PSI? upgrade pump or can i get by?
MAP? Missing link or check valves?
and hack? no hack needed if i FMU?

like i said.. strickly around town.. nothign fancy.. i really could careless if the turbo made substancial power.. just wanted the sound.. but the more and more i look at it.. its costing me. lol

You should look into the fake FMIC and fake BOV sound if you want to keep the costs down.

Otherwise, you can use either the FMU+check valve setup. Or the AFC hack (which I would recommend for low boost setups).

And about never redlining the car....yea right. After you experience boost, you'll want more and more, watch!

check d-series.org and go to the forced induction page, many using HF manifold with adaptor plate on a 14b or t2 slow, various fmic, homemade piping, afc hack etc.. theyll show ya how to keep it cheap and somewhat reliable

no you cant get away with stand alone it will cost more than youre whole turbo setup. plus with a standalone you dont need check valves.

what i your budget....

Mine is somehwere around 1750 and this is what I will be getting

Vtec92civic manifold and IC piping 550
some small turbo no more than 150
FMIC no more than 250
SAFC no more than 275
450 DSM/resistor box-80
oil like it from stealthmode at HMT -90
BOV no more than 150
Fluids/filter-50 (change oil and prolly do a coolant flush too)
K&N air filter-no more than 50
autometer boost gauge brand new was 30
autometer water temp-was 30
6 gauge pod holder-50

It can be done for ALOT less than that but I chose to get most the stuff brand new vs shopping around. The only thing that will be used is the turbo and DSM until I can afford a new turbo

well.. my budget is low.. not cuz im broke.. cuz i dont' really wanna spend money on something i know will never make serious power.. i already have a 12 second car in the garage (hence my fully built B16). so far im in this turbo kit im peicing together about 500 bucks. and its AC compatable. but im almost ready to hit the streets.. i just need to learn about my fuel now, and whats good enough for low PSI..

im thinkinging missing link, and FMU 8:1 and no inline pump.

dont listen to him.....as long as you know you arent a ricer...who gives a **** what some guy on teh internet thinks. I will atest that noithing sounds better than a turbo spooling then shifting gears and hearing the BOV...Nice ****. Still alot of money to spend just for the sound though...especially when you can get those imitation BOV sounds for your exhuast for 30 bucks

well.. ive been talking to alot of poeple..

cheap exh. blow off valve imatators suck.

i belive this is my solution...

stock D15 in a EG hatch.

custom manifold and piping, tyrus 6" IC, and as far as management, we're going to run stock fuel supply, all with the exeption of running a B&M FPR set at 50SPI.. with a manual boost controler on teh T25 we're going to bring 5 PSI to the TB.. and keep an eye on the air/fuel, and boost.

for now, it should be ok. might run alittle rich at idle.. but running, should even out. im thinking of getting a EGT also..

i have a t25 on my d15. it spikes to 9psi, levels off around 7-8.

bare minimum youd prob want to do is fmu and check valves. I'd recommend 450cc injectors and a afc though... you can get them used for prob 50 and 200$

boost sounds good but i think 99.9% of the peeps that boost is cause they want more power not more sound, for info on this go to homemadeturbo.com and the 50psi fuel reg is not gonna work, go with afc hack (apexi afc and dsm 450 6-16 psi or fmu (fmu and walbro fuel pump)4-8 psi
