So my head is f*cked; could the block be damaged also?
Well... As some of you know i just bought a 90 si civic with a greddy turbo kit on it and a blown head gasket.
Anyway me and a friend put on a new gasket, reused the bolts, and now the new gasket is fucked so im betting the head is warped.
The game plan now is to buy a new head; new gasket; and ARP STUDS! But before i go throwing money around for that could the block or anything else be fucked up since the beast probably overheated pretty bad?
Also; if anyone has a spare a6 head (bare or whatever) that they'd be willing to donate to an ex honda hater turned honda enthusiest, give me a message

or i could get another head for the same price and not have to bother with loosing compresion and shims and all that other mess.
i talked my dad out of resurfacing his pulsar's head since a new one would only cost a bit more and he wouldnt have to deal with all that.

what are you talking about losing compression and shims? When they resurface they take the minimum amount off to get the head flat, probably not more than .0005. And besides if you buy a used head you should get that resurfaced before you install it.

well your not having a problem, this guy is, so i'd look there first. But then again i wouldn't reuse the bolts

Bolts technically should only be torqued once. Torqueing bolts is actually to ensure they are stretched properly, not tight enough. Regular bolts that are torqued a second time will not meet the proper "stretch" specs. Get some ARP studs, they are reusable.

I reused mine because I read posts from people saying they could reuse them and some saying not to. And i didnt want to spend money then on studs.
And now im paying the price.
But anyway; back on topic; could the block or anything else be fucked up if it overheated?

I just stated it since both people asked why he's reusing headstuds. Just saying that it CAN be done. That's all. And yes, the block surface can get warped as well from overheating.

Huge problems being what your going through right now... possible damage to the engine.
When you over heat, your oil takes a beating also, so running the car after an over heat could cause more damage unless you get your oil changed.
