I mean... Depends if I tell them right? It's still a Si w/original engine, just happens to be boosted. Insurance isn't raised with a DX gets a B18C5 swapped in.

Ya come to think of it how does that work? Someone enlighten us. The way I'm thinking how it is, is like this. Say u have ur car stock and insure it... unless u notify them of mods u have (i.e. receipts and such), you're insurance won't go up. Also, if you don't notify them, God forbid u get in an accident and the mods are damaged, then they wouldn't be covered. But if you DO notify them, ur premium would go up. Am I right in assuming this... I REALLY have never thought about this seriously prior to now.

If you dont tell the insurance people anything, your rates stay the same. A few years ago when my car got rear-ended and my bumper got all f'd up the insurance guy was being a dick and saying if i had all this custom work they were going to raise my premium, but that never happened Lets say if you had a 8k engine swap in a car and you totalled it while running full coverage, you might have a little bit of a problem getting all of your money since you arent paying a higher insurance rate. You can also get "show-car" insurance, its pricy though, and limits your car to being driven only 1500 miles a year i believe. I read in a previous thread, if memory serves right, that you can pay $10 or $30 more a month per $1000 you have modified on your car. Watch out though because one of my friends got his insurance dropped because they told him his engine was race-modified. This guy has THOUSANDS of dollars in his integra though, and when i say thousands i mean THOUSDANDSSSSSS.

it just depends on who your insurance company is. ive had a few friends who had their cars fucked up and their insurance agency wouldnt cover anything except for his car and rims. the turbo and all the other **** in it wasnt covered.
then again, i know alot of guys who have had their cars totaled/stolen/whatever and the insurance paid them a grip of $$$ provided that they had receipts.
