Default So i maxed out my Precision 5858..

well I made a few changes to my teggy's setup this winter. first thing was bigger (1000hp) Perrin intercooler. then ran -8 feed line and -6 return and firewall mounted regulator. ID2200cc injectors, switched to E-85 and with the retune the results were better than i expected lol

on 28 PSI it put down
-726 WHP
-463 WTQ

and this by they way is on a stock sleeved GSR with a journal bearing 5858.

Big thanks and shout out to Slowmotion Motorsports for the tuning!

And this is the 700hp club haha

That torque is so flat. Might as well cap it off at 500HP.

Since when does a 5858 make 100 more HP than its rated for?
Usually when you max out a turbo you see the torque curve falling pretty hard but yours isn't.
Congrats on the big numbers but are you sure its not a 6262?

Congrats on the big numbers but are you sure its not a 6262?
Depends on the housing. If his backpressure is low enough it will carry the torque.

It would be nice to see a boost plot too so you could rule out creep.

I usually look at the 200hp mark to get a very rough idea how it spools. If there's a big housing on it or a 6262, it certainly doesn't spool like it. I'd really like to know more details about the entire setup, and if it's CSS or as-cast by Honda.

not bad for a 5858, it would respond even better without that topmount though

very good mod and good turbo choice...

i believe this giant intercooler is responsable for keeping torque stable until 9000 rpm...

Wow had no idea a 5858 could make that much power, seems a little odd but if its true you have an amazing setup

That's bit more what I was thinking, as the behaviour from the power/torque plot looks like its over 65lbs/min or more. And I've dealt with the 5858 a lot. But if I say something I'm automatically being considered a "hater"..

So, I'll simply say good job?....

Something don't look right to me either, especially at only 28 psi. But who knows there are always freak setups that work exceptionally good together.
Good job if this is the case.

First of all great job

But there has to be something wrong here. A turbo this small is simply not capable to much this much power. The 5858 is such a common turbo and no one with any car/ engine has ever come close to making this much power.

Haha..thanks for the (mostly) love...it is a oem honda sleeved block...supertech block guard... the turbo is 5858 .82 ar exhaust..I ordered it myself from precision..I can post stamping On turbo if needed... head is ported and gsc cams which can be credited with making such good numbers..u can look at my old posts which has my old setup with same turbo I made 500whp on 93 and went 11.2@126 first time out.. race gas was 635whp with injectors maxed out. but didnt get to track it ..I plan to do a lot of racing this yr so we shall see... so far on the street ive beaten a 706whp twinturbo c6 vette and 750awhp evo both from 50 rolls....traction is a major issue though...trying to find the largest et street tire I can fit..

I still don't see what the big deal is here.... Precision under rates all their turbos. They always have. For example, my Precision 7285 is rated for 1100 hp. I can guarantee you that I make at least 200 hp more than that at the wheels.

I agree chris. My 6266 is rated for 735 and im making 100 more than that on 24 pounds of boost. Precision turbos are always under rated. Any precision I've ever seen always puts down to the wheels what they rated for crank hp at least and generally more

Magic dumps, the both of ya...

They don't underrate then, they go by the crank... tell you what Chris, if that's what you're doing with that turbo, give me your address, and when I finish mine, I'll send it to you for free to test out to do with what you want to beat it..

I after 4 years of the nonsense, nothing just magically happens like this..

The data doesn't lie. The GT45 hotside on my turbo is really efficient. When boost is approx 450kpa back pressure is about 430-440kpa. That's at WOT on a good run. 10:1, 84.5 x 89, .530/.515 cams, RLZ outlaw head, Sheepey front mount manifold and a 950hp garrett core. I don't hide anything. No spray on this run.

After 10+ years of doing business together, you didn't save my address? lol

pretty impressed. Had my 5858 and end up selling it for a sc61 which I'm sure was the better move but 7xxhp with 4xxtq most make for such a awesome car with such a responsive turbo. Oh btw if you want the best tire for traction go with M&H street/strip 235/60r15

Thats the size I was looking into just wasn't sure how well it will clear. Everyone I've spoke with who has had both claim the mt et streets will hook a bit better..but I am still doing research into both.
