Default So i bought a head... Big valves..umm....

ok, so i bought a head off a friend of mine, he ran it and put down around 720hp with his h.o. with an 84mm bore. So i thought cool, ill run it with my h.o., but he says it has 1mm oversized intake and exhaust valves, all ferrea... valve guides, seals, seats, springs, retainers, etc. etc. But i didnt know that ferrea made 1mm oversized exhaust valves, and do you think with my 85mm bore that i will have clearance issues?

The pistons are shelf stock 85mm 9.7:1 cp pistons, he was running 84 stock shelf cp's. So i dont think ill have any problems, but i just thought i would ask to clear my conscious.

Also, i plan on running like 28-32 psi range... any problems with the amount of pressure on the cylinder walls with an 85mm bore?

Also if anyone wants to offer their personal advice on building a motor like this, i am always open for suggestions, because i always want to learn.

there are companies that make 2mm oversize valves.
are the combustion chambers bored?
what kind of sleeves are you running?
triple check your measurements and dont skimp on parts, buy everything new and wait until the end of your build to do all your line honing and balancing.

yeah, everything is new, or from my last build and has had a freshening up. The sleeves are the old school solid deck dartons (looks like the new aebs) and what i thought was cool is you could see where the cylinders went past the coolant holes (because of the thickness of them).

the bore doesn't matter as much as the lift and duration of the cams that you're using...i didn't see it, but what cams?
