So... GEM sleeves are not 100% perfect. DART anyone?
from this thread>>>>https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=288057&page=2
I already have a GEM sleeved block for my all motor project. When that thread came out I am contemplating on getting a Dart block for Forced Induction. Bseries here in our country cost about $700-800 at least. GEM is $725. plus shipping of about $200.
Dart seems to be a good choice if I want a stout block. I can still sell my old blocks.
Any insight on Dart blocks?
i sure hope pricing won't change. tom mentioned $2000 for b18 84.5mm bore.

i dont have any experience with either, but with the few negative post about GE sleeve, there's been tons of positive feedback and lots of proof that ge's can handle whatever you can put to them...
as far as dart blocks they look awsome, and look to have alot of potential...but i havent yet heard of anyone actually using one yet...couple people have bought them but until i see a big hp street car running it, ide go with whats proven, ge.

Its a bare block though, youd still have to get a crank, water pump, oil pump.....on and on. I think the finish work is not to good on them either. They are NOT legal for quick class cars and I wouldnt want to get caught on the street and have a cop open the hood an see a block with no numbers. Try to explain how its after market and they come with numbers. Say good bye to your car for about a month and you might lose the motor anyways. Plus therea nothing wrong with the stock block.

GE sleeves are excellent for the street or for the track. The sleeves can handle a great amt of boost. There is nothing wrong with GE sleeves.
$2000 for a bare block?
Your going to need a whole bunch of things such as crank, etc. So it's going to add up.

I saw a Dart block installed on a car at a local shop.
The mechanic who was working on it said it has some fluid leakage problems.

Why not go with Darton sleeves (hint, hint)...Our shop is the only one that I know of in the country that will perform the work with a CNC machine and not a Bridgeport (basically anything that involves a CNC means that it has a better chance of having tighter tolerances, better manufuctured item, etc etc.)
Our prices will be the best in the country also!!
If anyone would like more information on our services please PM or email me.

....and I`m right in the middle of looking for all the nuts and bolts for a bare block..it`s not fun.
Do what your budget permits, but if it`s a street car just go with GE.

Dart.
well bare block sells for $2150 bare block that is. thats for people like us that price. I would stick with GE! If I had money like that I would hit dart. But Dart has to make at least 500 to have them legal at events.
