How much steam? There's usualy a small amount of fumes (steam looking stuff) that comes out. Are you using any water? Oil? if not then more then likely your fine. How many miles are on your engine?

ok, seems when i am ideling there is a steady stream or smoke/steam coming out. and a little oil splatter when i rev. then when i boost more comes out. but not much. i took out my spark plugs and they have no oil residue and they are dry as a bone. it started when i let it idle without the bov vacume line hooked up, well i at least noticed it after this. can it be something in the PVC system?? were dose the oil escape from when the ringlands are bad? wouldn't the plugs show sines of broken ringlands? i have been boosting for about a week and a half, 156,000 miles on stock ls, 7psi uberdata tuned.

i need help asap. thanks

a compression and leak down test will tell you a lot more. If your ringlands are cracked/broken you will ususally get a steady stream of smoke out of the valve cover breather and a poor idle.

Bottom line do a compression and leak down youll find what you need

That woun't cause the steam. Being turbo'd you will get a decient amount of blowby. Do a compression / leak down test *tests the condition of your rings/cylinders*. If those are good, Then you should be fine. When I boost my b20/vtec, completly built, There's slight vapor stuff at idel. but when it boosts i get a lot of vapor coming out of my pcv vent I thought it was way too much and something must of been wrong, I took engine apart and everything was fine. When i talked to my tuner he said "Oh ya thats normal". Thats why when turbo'd crankcase ventalation is so important. To Vent the vapors. Do a search for valve cover vent's and see some of the systems people come up with. Odds are I'd say if its running good everything is fine. I do compression checks all the time they only take a few minutes. They tell you so much info.

cl3 75
cl4 185

could it be possibe that it is a head related problem? or is it most likley the rings and ringlands..?
