Default smoke out vent on valve cover help

i know its not suppose to do this with the pcv hooked up, but i have removed it and put the block plug in its place. i dont have a catch can hooked up yet, but it will be with -10 fittings on the valve cover. at idle, not in boost or anything, smoke comes out of the nipple on the valve cover. does that necessarily mean something is wrong, or is some smoke going to be there since the pcv is removed? also, its a basically brand new motor, only about 50 miles on it. i hate my car

so you blocked off the stock ports on the back of the block? very bad idea....

you want as much air flow as possible, not just flow coming out of your valve cover...

dont drive your car until you have a catch can thats connected to your block AND your valve cover. or one for each.

you need both vented.

If he's having problems with it smoking at idle then there is no pressure.

with only 50 miles on the motor, I would say that the ring still need time to seal

It's blowby and yes you should vent the block and the VC. The pressure you are trying to relieve is created in the block not in the head. From what I understand right now is you have no crankcase ventilation.

the pressure may be created in the block, but the vents on the back are still the same oil gallies and run up thru the head. venting from the block and the valve cover relieves pressure from the same place.
