Default Skunk2 Ultra Race yields 80+ mid range hp

http://cms.skunk2.com/id/933/Skunk2-...itive-results/

There's nothing better than installing new parts and seeing instant gains on the dyno. Luis is ecstatic with his new setup... He recently made a pass of 10.40 @ 153 MPH, and barely ran this setup this month.

Take a look at the dyno with an impressive gain of over 80+ WHP in the Mid-Range!

Current Setup:

32PSI on the Ultra Manifold compared to 36PSI on the Edelbrock Manifold
9.0 Compression Ratio
Max RPM of 9400 rpm
Pump Gas E85

Skunk2 Pro1 Camshafts
Skunk2 Pro Series Cam Gears
Skunk2 Ultra Race Manifold
Skunk2 90mm Throttle Body

Kind of deceiving of a dyno sheet since it looks like it is spinning in the RED dyno sheet. Would like to see the Tq numbers since they will tell the truth....

The 7000rpm-9000rpm is just too straight/flat

Not trying to start a flame war, but it looks like VTEC crossover was moved.

Can nobody just say wow, GJ? .. Seriously.. there's a lot of variables, obviously. But all everyone cries on this forum is "I WANT DYNO SHEETS, I WANNA SEE WHAT IT DOES ON THE DYNO!!!!" When that's provided people always pick at it..

Then you produce track results, and then there's more picking.. the air wasn't cold enough, the guy had to **** before he made a pass.. retarded..

Now and days, no other companies can just compliment each other and its sickening.
Well from one guy to another, Dave, Skunk2, Good job.

Yeah so what, but we all know what it is all really about - PEAK HORSEPOWER!!! Who cares it had some gains midrange on a almost 700 whp car, it lost some of it's most important number!!!

Burn baby burn...

I tune the car and just move the vtec point a few hundred rpm just to test something out. By picking up 80 hp in the midrange, the car went from 144mph in the quarter to 153 mph in the quarter. I can post a torque curve if anyone want to see it. Also, we are also running 4 less lbs of boost with the skunk 2 ultra. Injectors are at about 88 % duty cycle so that's why I stop at 32 psi instead of tuning it to 36. This particular motor has been together for about 6-7 years now and has hundred of dyno passes on it. Overall, i'm very impress with the skunk 2 ultra manifold.

I'll be testing this manifold out on my race car soon that has an a2w setup. I'm taking off my hp racing sheetmetal manifold and will be using the 5.5 liters skunk2 ultra manifold in its place.

Depending on gearing, midrange will always play a role going down the track - its amazing the amount this is overlooked.

Personally, I think dyno numbers mean jack ****. Put it on the track and lets see what it does.

My tuner said the same thing to me the same exact thing

I've been thinking of switching my blox IM for a elderbock to improve my mid- top end, but this skunk2 street manifold might be for me. The ultra seems a but much for my motor

Results arent back yet on the ultra street, the race version has proven itself a worthy competitor though for turbo setups.

+1, its crazy how everyone is just hyped up about peak whp numbers. its amazing how different a car is when you've changed something(tuning involved) and picked up midrange hp and tq and how it effects your 1/4 mile time and mph. im big into track testing after ive changed something and getting tuned.

Looks like the test mule has a S372 on it.... Steve, can you confirm that?

And if it is.... at 36psi that thing should be well into the 900's.
