Skunk2 Camshafts for our Turbo S2000
The only thing lacking in out setup was a set of good camshafts. Having previously made 600whp on pump gas, we felt that before we attempt any more power we needed some cams.
Well, as many S2000 guys know, cams for a F20C are EXPENSIVE. Well after some checking around, i noticed that Skunk2 had some new camshafts available, for a REASONABLE PRICE. The price for 1 Set of Skunk2 camshafts is equal to 1 CAMSHAFT from some other companies for the S2000.
I ordered a set of Skunk2 Stage 2s for the "S" and i received them yesterday. Grinning like mad men, we installed them. I wasnt going to post anything until after we dynoed, but there is nothing like the sound of a camming turbo S2000.

Cams are already installed, we are waiting for the Oil Pump to arrive before we dyno her any more which should be later this week. the oil pump has 35K on it so we figure shes due for a new one

Re: (Hyaboosta)
dyno numbers soon.
thursday night, while street tuning, we started to hear a rattle. Got back to the shop, replaced the tensioner, and the rattle went away somewhat. street tuned it again, and the chain broke. seems the idler gear bearing seized an the gear started to wobble and it broke the chain.
got lucky, only 1 bent valve.
new head should be here tomrrow

HAHA, who said it was the cams fault?
Just to clarify, we have started hearing a rattling noise for some time now. When we installed the Skunk2 cams, we double check everything an couldnt find the problem. put the car back together an the noise was a little quieter. We street tuned the car an the rattling came back and got louder.
We put a new tensioner on (our 4th one on this motor) and 20 miles later the car shut off. The timing chain broke because the bearings inside the idler gear SEIZED.
IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH CAMSHAFTS. IT HAS EVERYTHING TO DO WITH REVVING THIS CAR to 10,000 RPMS MAKING 600whp

I installed these cams last week (stage 2) on my s.
The idle sounded the same as yours, When my car was iddling it sounded like
there was marbels thrown around in the valve cover. and would go away after
3K rpm's.
The next day my car shut off. The motor is now gone.
Going back to stock........for now

Re: (xxmaxhardcorexx)
Thank you for someone else clarifying this.
Jdm I work at REV racing engine valves. We measured the cams when sk2 sent me them. You do relize they have the same lift as a small block chevy right? I think stock cams may be the best for the s2k.
I mdade 448@around 13 psi only reving to 6500 so I'm going to stick it out and use the stockers for now.
Btw what size turbo is that?
