Single cam turbo questions???
So i have a y8 motor in my civic all stock internals, I recently got a deal on a turbo kit but i am not sure if there are things internaly i need to do before i go boosted. I will only be at low boost ( like 8lbs). this car is also my daily driver and my budget is somewhat tight. So anything i need to do for a smooth running single cam turbo??

lol, somewhat low budget and DD. Your car WILL be out of commission a while. Maybe a couple days, maybe longer. It's not one of those things you're just going to do overnight.

There is nothing wrong with boosting a stock motor, it just wont last as long as a built motor. If your going to be boosting at low psi (4-6) then you should be fine. HOWEVER if you have the time and money then just do it the right way and build the internal. ( piston, sleeve, etc.)
If you have any more question regarding turbo then i suggest you address them in the force induction thread. You'll get quicker and more helpful answers.

comp test / leakdown test the motor. Under 250whp will be fine, 200whp and good tune it will last even longer. Find a spare longblock engine and build it so that you get less down time.
