signs of head gasket trouble? (crappy) pics inside
Just wanting to get opinions before I pull the head.
Radiator neck:
Radiator overflow hose:
Coolant resevoir:
"Bubbles" on oil dipstick after idling for a minute (very crappy pic, damn Sony camera):
There is NOTHING floating in the coolant. I'm running Water Wetter in the coolant. Is this left over residue from the Water Wetter, or is this oil residue?

Looks pretty normal for some of the cars I see. It may be just that you have gone too long on the coolant and it is starting to go away. The best way to diag a HG problem is with a leakdown or a nice long cooling system pressure test. Defintly do those before you pull the head. From what I see though you dont have a problem yet. If there are no other symptoms yet either then you may just be paranoid.

it looks some what normal...the overflow tank being that dark is kind of odd...maybe flush it out...and see if it gets dark again...do a compression test like Hoosier said....
also why are you worried...maybe you could explain the reason why your focusing on this

Because when I checked my oil, the oil on the dipstick was "foamy", even worse than what the pic above shows. My oil has NEVER looked like that before. So then I checked the radiator and the resevoir, and found the residue in them.
Thanks for the responses, guys. I'm going to do a leakdown test this weekend.

FOamy oil only means it has lost its anti foaming capabilities. A blown headgasket does not cause this. Milky oil is a blown HG. Like Nesltle Quik.

Take an oil change, coolant flush, and compression test and call me in the morning.

He is right........ just clean the over flow tank and see if it comes back like that. and do a good coolant flush..
