Icon2 The significants of Cam gear Adjustment When it comes to Forced Induction.

Im currently running h22a +Jrsc in a prelude, with rc440cc injectors+255walboro fuel pump....Im working with the p5p oem computer right now because i missed inspection and on way to passing..and was wondering if adjusting my cam gears to -.o5dgz exhaust and +3dgz Intake would be a good setup for the old Twin screw. No easy access to Dyno tunning

heres an idea of how cam timing can effect you

even on a SOHC, we had the cam out by 4.7 degrees. on 35psi it trapped 130mph

we corrected the timing, car ran 129mph on 19psi.

You need to be careful seperating cams really far apart like that on a DOHC. You can run the valves into each other. There are dynos around if you're interested.

I'm very interested in dyno tuning, The closest place i know of that specializes in honda/acura is Innovative Motor works, But their all the way down in Carlisle PA so it requires a lot of planning around work. I'm searching for the Cam Gear ratios for my setup to reduce emissions, because i missed inspection in July; I've ben pushing a D16y8 to save gas cash for the full tune.

Im Reading of people Running JSRC on Bseries At .25*exhaust retard and 4* Intake advance pushing 8psi...But i dont think i would want somthing that spread because H Series are completely different engines, and it sounds a bit drastic.

It depends entirely on the cam you are using and the LSA of the set whether or not they need to be spaced out or not on a forced induction car. People have good luck with NA cams because they can dial out some of the overlap associated with the NA cam using the adjustable gears.

without a degree wheel and knowing the cam's exact specs, its pretty pointless.

What cams r u running. Aftermarket cams have presets usually to start at. Correct me if I'm wrong but cam timing varies a bit on supercharged turbocharged and NA. Plus cam tuning will never be the same from car to car.

How many times can you contradict yourself in a 4 sentence paragraph?

Or get on rt 17 and take the trip down to xenocron. Cam gear adjustments really need to be done on a dyno

For reference I picked up between 10 and 15 hp messing with cam gear settings on a 400hp setup.
