Should I stay at stock comp, or lower with gasket????
I have a 97 civ. ex. I am installing an fmax T3/T4 turbo, and the w.g. is set at 9psi, I heard that if I run my stock compression it overheats the valves. I have 2 additional 440cc injectors, a 190 fuel pump, and a MSD detination control. I have heard both sides, so I thought I would look to you guys for some thoughts. Should I get a gasket to lower comp, or stay at the stock? Thanks.......

Hey FMAXTURBOCHIC..smirk 
...my advice to you is to lose the extra injectors....they contibuted to blowing my engine before the rebuild....the fuel distribution was so un even that it was impossible to tune it..
If you fo bigger injectors to replace your OEM ones, you can probably stay at stock compression...
extra injectors + stock pistons = bad news for sure
best case senario is to do forged pistons (high or low..your choice) and a standalone with bigger injectors! Good luck!

i would only put the headgasket in if that was your last resort and broke (like me)
Get a Cometic or Inline Pro headgasket since I have heard other will leak.

Your stock compression on the stock 1.6 sohc vtec (d16y8) is already low, so I wouldn't recommend going any lower.
Loss the mf2 and get a fmu for now, get Hondata later on the road.

That still does not answer her question only confuses more. The problem is that lower compression is best if you want fewer problem with Detonation. The only thing with lower compression is that you need to buy a gasket many people say that gastkets do no last long. So the problem then is if you go stock compression then yes bigger Injectors and a standalone would be great with pistons and rods! That only means much more time waithing until all those parts are ready Hint Hint mucho dinero$$$$$ So my advice lower compression with Greddy Eo-1 and mf2 should be plenty fine.. Knowledge is power....and experiecne of a course...

So now I have to get the GASKET AND use the mf2??? on the fmax site, when you purchase the kit, it gives the option of EITHER OR, why would I do both????

OK, do not get the gasket or the mf2. Your compression is already low enough. I just lowered my GSR to the same compression as you have stock.
I would just get the turbo kit and throw on a hondata 2b + RC 440's

Well the Hondadata by far is the best that there is out there. I really recommend the Hondata s200 with boost capabilities. Now as far as Injectors go I hear 440 injectors are good for 300 or so HP, So with all that said your looking at 700.00 for Hondata and $350 for the injectors. My best solution go with what you got and dont boost to high. unless you have lower compression. GO TO THE DYNO BOTTOM LINE! THE DYNO TELLS ALL. If you have no detonation then whats the problem! Or if your still not happy then wait until you buy the Hondata then the Injectors and your on your way to higher ground!

9.6:1 comp is decent, It's not too low and it's not too high.
