i dont think that would be a good idea. the butterfly makes really good low and mid range power whether you boosting or not. keep it in until you want to run high boost, then maybe ditch the stock gsr for something bigger like a JG or and Endyn.

I wouldn't worry about it until your making some serious big power... they don't do anything but help when your not in boost anyways... so don't sweat 'em.

well 1st stage is 4400 and i'll hit full boost before then. 8psi low boost ~12psi high. if i remove the butterfly plate and set vtec when i hit full boost wouldnt it be better?

for the most power remove them, as that will create the least air restriction. This power gain will be minor though and your low end power will be diminish some too.
If it were n/a I'd recomend it since you need all the power you can get, but for FI I say it ain't worth it.

it is going to cause some low end power lose (torque)... from off idle to just before the turbo spools.
although since you said your turbo spools quickly and before the runners are even open... I would say imo, ditch the butterflys... keep the plate in there for the extra area it makes in the plenum.
for what little you lose in out of boost performance, I think you will see better performance in the boosted area's of the powerband.

because if you take them out then your essentially running a (big) intake manifold that wasn't designed for low RPM - it's the whole reason why the manifold is dual stage. My IAB is disabled and have no complaints.. not that i ever had them working though... and I'm ~2300lbs...

your power loss will be experienced during daily driving, crusing around, most likely not while boosting, and your gass milkeage will suffer some. It's going to be like the affects from a mild porting.

Re: should i remove butterfly plate? (GSRBoi785)
The IAB valve is positioned on the short (high rpm) runners. When it opens the short fat runners are the path of least resistance however the long (low rpm) runners are still open at all times. Air already flows through both stages when the valve is open.
