how often do you want to pull your head to replace the guides?

bronze guides wear extremely fast

You don't need to replace guides when the head is ported.

If you do end up replacing them for whatever reason, and it's a street car, go with oem guides.

especially for me, seeing as how i usually drive 5-10k miles in 3 months, i doubt thats correct, there is just no way a machine shop would recommend something that wont last more than a year

5000 to 10,000 miles are all that bronze guides are good for. Great for your quarter mile at a time engine but not good for the street. BTW, the SuperTech valve with it's nitride coating gives you the same benefits as running bronze guides, without the wearing out problem.

well ive got the supertech valves and the bronze valve guides. Will the supertechs help with wear or should I really get new valve guides put in before i put the head on, if i want it to last a few years?
