should i get this 3" downpipe for my car?
"3" DOWN PIPE FOR GREDDY TURBO KIT ALL ALUMINIZED FOR 92 - 95 CIVIC,COMES WITH BIG 2.50" GASKET TO HOOK UP TO THE EXHAUST O2 BUNG AND NUT WELDED FOR THE HEAT PROBE."
does that sound like you have to re-locate the o2 sensor? i cant tell if that is crush bent or mandrel bend... and the end piece comes out to 2.5"
opinions? thoughts?

The reason being what is the use of a 3" downpipe that goes to 2.5" outlet. Plus that thing looks crush bent to me....

Screw that, both pics are of different dp's. The bottom one doesn't go to 2.5" at the end. Thats definately crush bent too.

man nothing wrong with crush bent especially at a diamiter of 3", i was talking with this custom pipe bender and he has he could bend me a mandrel 3" catback but hes like listin mandrel doesn't flow a crap load more then crush, hes like save your money and i will bend you a crush pipe cause mandrel is definitly not worth it.

Sounds like someone who's too lazy to get the job done right. Seriously.
Plus, that 1st crush bent DP up there looks like it's reduced to 2.25" at the apex of the inner curve. Someone should dyno a true 3" DP and that one up there.

Not to mention the kind of horrific spiking your gonna have with a 3" DP and GReddy's internal wastegate! As it is I have bad enough spiking with a 2.5" DP, I'd be a little leary of going 3" with a flapper door.

Call me crazy, but I don't see the wrinlkes in it indicating it's crush bent..
There are two types of crush bends. The first is the one that creates the wrinkles, like the ones you see at PepBoys or something. The second is a smoother bend, BUT it still pinches the angle so you lose some flow. So a 3" pipe will pinch down to 2.5" or less around the bend. A TRUE mandrel bend will flow 3" throughout, especially around the bends.
Depending on your output goals, that 1st 3" DP will help prevent boost creep since it's sorta pinched to about 2.25-2.5". But for ballz out performance, 3" mandrel bend will be required.

let me guess.... you found that on ebay?
hey vtc... you should of told me sooner that you have boost spike problems. i was so set on getting my dp customized. to me, it seems kind of stupid to go from a 2.25 (is that the greddy dp diameter?) to a 3" cat and all the way back. instead i think i will get a 2.5" cat, 2.5" piping, and a 3" straight thru muffler. also stick a resonator in there somewhere.
