Probably NOT the smartest thing to do, let alone even consider it. The engine has been stock all its life with just a aem short ram intake. Regular oil changes and never beat on, used as a daily mule for 100% of its life. Even if compression/leakdown checks out,,, think its remotely possible to squeeze 250whp outa her?
Aside from pistons, rings, bearings, rods, rod studs,,, im sure the valves are worn as hell, same with the guides, seals, springs and so on. im sure bringing it to 9k all of the sudden will be a shock to its system. Kinda like making an old fart gap a 60ft double on a MX bike... I dont want to spend the money to rebuild it, because i have my Rx7 project. Think i should just go for it and hope for the best? Or fugg it, and boost my b18b i have hidden in my garage with 78k?
Or go the cheapest route and get new OEM rings, all new bearings, seals and guides?

ya lol... do a comp test, fix all your leaks (if you have any) and go nuts
I'd be pissed if i blew a gsr motor though lol those things are pricey.

Boost it, my old motor had like 215,000 miles on it and i boosted it and it ran perfect, i recently took out the motor though cause i need more power.
