Re: Shops in New York City area (R THIS)
I tell this to everyone who asks me for a shop reference..... check out the work that the shop has done before making the final decision. If you were planning on plastic surgery, wouldn't you seek the best doctor? The same applies for your car. Don't shop around for cheapest prices because you will get what you paid for. With that in mind, I would definately check out RPM NYC if you're in the area. Log onto their website.

Doesn't make sense...most shops will rarely have stuff in stock in this city. They tell you yeah I got it in the "wharehouse" then they make you wait while they go pick it up at some other shop or something. It would be smart to get the names of these shops and phone ahead to make sure you get what you came to buy....and not end up buying something just cuz some guy wants to sell you something that has been on his shelf for months.

I can personally vouch for RPM NYC. They've come through for me many times and they stand behind their work 100%. Big for the guys at RPM.

i can vouch for NRG... i do good work
as far as rpm and drt... they do good work as well... everyone gets there share of bad press... i personally know them all. it all comes down to which shop u feel most comfortable with imo...

Re: Shops in New York City area (Showoff)
I can honestly say I've dealt with all three shops.
rpm's prices are ridiculously expensive and the dyno they use suck *** imo. This thing needs to be calibrated badly. But there are a bunch of nice guys there, especially the tuner, so they get points for that.
DRT is cheaper, has the best dyno in town in terms of price and accuracy, but the big old R man can use some patience in his tuning. You also don't feel like you were treated well when you walk out of DRT. hmmm...
I just started dealing with NRG tech, they're cool so far, from what I've seen and their prices are reasonable, but they dont' have their own dyno.

Get the facts straight before starting any rumors.....like how many other motors blew up in that Civic from Turbo People.
