Shopping Parts list to install an Ebay Turbo?
Hello,
I am considering purchasing an Ebay turbo and was wondering if you can help me figure out what else is required to complete the installation of the Ebay Turbo Kit? (ie, injectors, 2.5-3" muffler, etc)
I was wondering if you would recommend a 2.5" muffler or 3" muffler to install with the turbo?
How much power output do you think the engine can put out with 8psi boost?
Thank you

8psi means nothing unless we know the turbo - a small turbo will result in less power than a large turbo at the same psi.
2.5" exhaust (not just muffler) works well with typical daily driver boost.
3" is better, but you may have a tough time with fitment.
I also suggest you don't waste your time with ebay turbos. They are really that bad.
You have to pay to play if you want something worthwhile.
You would have a better system if you pulled together a used 'junkyard' turbo setup.
Head over to the Forced Induction forum on this site. There is a lot of heads packed with really good knowledge available in there.

Then you will have some education to ask really good questions.
Seriously - I am not joking or being a jerk one bit.
That is the absolute best advice I can offer you.

I think so.
If you bought a quality kit built for your motor it would probably be around the same amount of work to install as the engine swap.
The tuning, troubleshooting, and maintenance set it on a different level.

3" exhaust with 0 fitment issues (unless you have a shifter with a crazy short throw)
Thermal R&D Turbo/3" cat back exhaust.
I have one, fits perfect, no regrets.
But yeah it's a little easier to do a swap vs boosting a car, depending on what you have available. That car will need a tune, is there a place that does ECU tuning near you? NepTune? Hondata? Crome? Tuning is possibly the most vital, and expensive part.

lol@thinking an engine swap is replacement for boost. It's not an either/or thing. They both give completely different results, and while a swap might be cheaper (except it won't be, if you get a swap worth having), you'll get more power from boosting. Figure out what your goals are for the car before you worry about swapping, boosting, spraying, or building. Once you come back to us with goals, we can give you good advice.

Don't buy a whole kit. Piece the eBay kit together. There are knockoff brands that work well. eBay turbos are the thing in the 240 world.
I would guess the hp limit is around 350 reliably.
I can pm you a list of the parts I have used and worked well.

Why don't you make like rest of the butt holes that are behaving themselves and drowned yourself?
But seriously I use eBay stuff. I race eBay stuff. That's why I'm in this thread being helpful.
D and B series all can run 350 hp with all pars purchased from eBay.

ebay doesn't mean junk if you are piecing together name brand quality pieces, but if you are buying some knock off kit, don't waste your money

4,396 trolls in one year? Looks as though anything is possible.
There are plenty of parts to piece together on ebay and make 350 on a d series chump.
Keep making stupid. Move along. pick on someone else.

JE gsr forged pistons
Gsr Eagle H beam rods

eBay cheapo valve springs
eBay cheapo performance head bolts
eBay t3t4 50 trim
Emusa waste gate
Skunk 2 pro manifold
Denso 660cc
eBay cheapo 3 bar map
eBay 2.5 steel j bend and do parts
All eBay gaskets water pump and oil pump
eBay ssqv bov
eBay fuel pump
eBay vacuum manifold
All cheapo eBay crap
I used eBay bearings
eBay block guard u name it
I will try and find my import Atlanta build and for sale threads and post them up.

ebay is nothing but an auction site, everyone forgets that, no ebay brand, but if there was it would be advertised as cheap chinese junk at rock bottom prices, what you get out of it is what you search for, look for people selling quality parts, and save some money over buying them new, buy a 200 dollar kit, and it grenades your motor in a week, if you are lucky

I wonder why all these Ebay builders come on here with their panties in a bunch all the time. If you've done it, then goody for you.

because everyone assumes if it's an "ebay build" it must be a bunch of cheap chinese junk, or a ricer build

Re: Shopping Parts list to install an Ebay Turbo?
clearly dallas didn't read any of the replies...
we aren't saying 350hp can't be made with a SOHC. we are saying that a stock internal d series would never make that much power and live.
If he's talking about installing an ebay turbo kit then there's a 99% chance that he sure as **** won't be building the motor
