Shopping for Autometer gauges - What's the difference between series?
Or is it just cosmetics?
Which series do you recommend?
Can I change the bulb to LED colored bulbs?

Autometer gauges all have the same "guts" regardless of the series. Well, it will say whether it is electric or mechanical, that is important to know.
You could change the bulbs to LEDs, but I think LEDs are too directional for that sort of thing. I think there is a series that uses EL gauge faces, that would look nice.

It's mostly cosmetics. The only real price jump is going from mechanical to electric gauges.
Both types work fine, but it's an issue of whether or not you want different types of fluids (coolant, oil, fuel) to be routed into your interior. If there is ever a leak, it could get messy with a mechanical gauge.

The only gauges with different internals are the Nexus series gauges.
The rest are pretty much the same as far as function goes.

Cobalts and C2's also have different internal components
