Sohc Driver

I just acquired a KKK ball bearing turbo, and there is shaftplay in it...Is this repairable....Do i just need a routine build up, or is there more things involved in bringing this turbo back up to spec? If i am too vague please tell me what other information you need to answer my question.

how much shaft play?? all turbo's have some shaft play.... Also, is it side to side, or in and out?

both..however..the fins aren't touching or rubbing against anything..the shaft spins freely...no metal to metal contact anywhere

I am probably not going to run this turbo though....I might run a td05 16g turbo instead, because i already have the manifold and downpipe for it.....My plans for this turbo are to either rebuild it and sell it..or sell it as is...im trying to see what i need to do to put this turbo back to spec first however...

Send it to Majestic turbo in TX. KKK turbo's are notorious for taking a dump. They have a tendency to blow seals on quite a few VW and Audi's.

a tiny bit of side to side on a ball bearing turbo is normal
