Default Semi Built ls block or Stock 2001 GSR block

I have 2 different blocks ls with new bearings and arias 10:5:1 pistons. everything else is stock. I also have a 2001 gsr block.
I will be using a 2000 SI head. Should i go poor mans type R turbo or ls vtec turbo with these blocks? I will only be boosting 7 pounds again

Since you have forged pistons in the LS block, use that. 10.5:1 is a tad high, but will yield more power than the GSR block you have... and will take slightly more abuse (a safe 12-13psi compared to a safe 10).

Sorry I didn't read your post clear. So yea go with the LS block since you are just keeping it at 7psi.

go with the LS block. pistons are the weakest part of all honda blocks, might as well use a block which has the weakest link already takin care of.

run the gsr block with all the ls internals....crank, rods, bearings and the pistons. I dont think the comp. is too high at all. You could put like 8-10 pounds easy with no other mods and have a fast motor.

I was just wondering if it was worth running the LS block because its cheaper then the GSR and has the pistons, but then again its been bore so the its a little weaker

run the ls block then...if its an issue of getting your car together the quickest. You can mix and match parts with the gsr later anyways.

Art, that's basically an ls/vtec but in a GSR block. No need to run oil lines and you have a stock main cap girdle already there.

Is that really possible? How bout the LS pistons with the GSR crank/rods?

Technically it does, since anytime you overbore the sleeves they are that much thinner.
