Selling my 2000 Celica GT-S and getting a 94' LS (to turbo), have gotten some advice but need more
I am getting rid of my celica (lack of aftermarket parts and forced inductiuon options) and plan on getting a integra. I've talked to a lot of people and this is what I've been told is the best set-up for a turbo. A 94-95 LS (OBD-1) with a B16 (Jap. spec automatic version) VTEC head conversion. With a intercooled turbo, upgraded fuel pump and fuel injectors. Does this sound like a good setup? any other opinions? Thanks.

you might also look into http://www.hondata.com for fuel and ignition management. Very user friendly, and exceptional for forced induction.

you might as well just keep the celica. i know this is a honda board but parts will eventually come for the gts.
xs engineering already has their ball-bearing turbo kit for the gts. pretty expensive but xs puts out quality parts.

Celicas look funny. they are cool cars... but NAH! id go for an Acura instead. especially a 94 because its the better year integra to fix up. not only that... slap on a b16a head... LSVTEC conversion.... throw on a turbo kit... and DAYM! you got yourself a demon! no questions about it... Plus, integras look a hell of a lot better than a celica. get yourself a conversion or something... it would look pretty damn sweet.

I believe Fmax makes a turbo kit for the new GTS and I heard it puts down some wicked figures, I would stick with the Celica.

dont bother getting an LS u might as well get a GSR.. LS's have low compression and longer gearing which is good for turbo but u will make more power with a GSR.. LSVtec is good for all motor cause LS has the torque curve down low but u cant rev as high so i dont think its the way to go with FI... just go with a GSR and u can lower the compression, get a standalone fuel system, good turbo kit and have vettes for breakfest..

With a properly setup LS + good driver, you can hit 11's and probably even high 10's on slicks with a good driver. If you dont believe me, check out http://www.psiproformance.com
They got an LS @ 14 PSI and full interior hit a 11.9 on slicks
And his block is sleeved, aftermarket rods, pistons, etc. Crank up the boost and expect some lower times.

Keep the gts. You never know what your getting with a used car. Keep the gts, pay it off, then by that time there will be just as many aftermarket parts as there are for the teg. .02 cents.

That is my exact setup. It will be expensive (I've poured about 3K just into the engine-parts, machine work). Source all your parts first. I recommend getting the gsr girdle and modifying it. It's worth the peace of mind. If you want pics I can email you some. Oh yeah, pick up a LSD if you can, you won't regret it.

The GTS is a pretty bad *** car in my opinion...I would probably keep it.
