Self Built / Self Tuned B16a
It has been a long road for me to reach this state.
I bought all my turbo parts used, except for my intercooler which i got at a steal! I am currently at 14PSI Feels great, about 500km on the motor so far, no issues. This is the first motor i built all by myself.... My motor consist of, [dont knock me, its a budget build] USED Srp 81mm Pistons Eagle Rods [NEW] ACL Main and Rod Bearings Fjt Gasket and Seal Kit, Includes Head gasket ARP Head Studs 99-00 Integra Type R Cams [Stock Valve Springs, 8000RPM Rev Limit] Skunk2 Cam Gears Turbo Setup........ All used parts eCtune - Thanks Calvin! 3 Bar Map sensor Tial 38mm Wastegate Tial 50mm BOV Spooling Performance Intercooler Pipe Kit 2"Hot - 2.5 Cold" Precision 350HP Intercooler Precision 880cc Injectors Garrett 60 Trim .63 Ar Ebay Manifold Walbro 255 Intank Pump Aeromotive FPR B &R Fittings Oil Catch Can Brakes SS Brake Lines Hawk Pads Suspension Tanabee CVS Springs Koni Yellows 2.5" Mandrel bent Downpipe, and Exhaust Blitz Muffler [Still to install] Bride 1st Gen Brix Seats to hold me in place. Momo Steering Wheel 15" Work Emotion Cr Kai Wheels Autometer Boost Gauge PLX Dm5 + Sm Afr Wideband Innovative Mounts Act 4 Puck Copper Clutch Act Pressure Plate Oem flywheel OBX LSD The compression Should be arround 8.5:1... At 14psi, What hp level should i be over? I know no bench guessing, but should i be over 250hp? Sorry no pics at the moment, but will try to get some up soon |
Re: Self Built / Self Tuned B16a
a dyno will tell you that, wait and find out
|
Re: Self Built / Self Tuned B16a
Probably around 300whp
|
Re: Self Built / Self Tuned B16a
Why such a low compression ratio?
|
Re: Self Built / Self Tuned B16a
Go to a dyno. I think it should be a standard thing that after you finish your set up you should have to get it dynoed! Or else everyone will be like "I think its at like 300whp" then if they loose a race they will say "prob only at 275whp"

Re: Self Built / Self Tuned B16a
Without knowing which manifold you're running its hard to pin it down to an exact number, but i'll take a stab. I'd say at 14psi on a 60 trim, you're probably in the 315-330whp range. I'd give you higher, but that 2.5" exhaust on a low comp B16 is throwing me off...i'd like to see how close that is. I guess the power also depends on your tuning ability...sounds like fun either way

Wastegate in the center... The timing is on the low side, 1* per psi. Also is very rich, low 11's afr... I like to play it safe! I still need to find a way to install my IAT sensor in my charge pipe, i got one of those b16a types.... |

Re: Self Built / Self Tuned B16a
depends on the fuel^
On 93 octane at 13 psi, im around 11.5-11.8. on my fuel blend, at 18 psi, it makes most power at 12.5 afr and 26* timing. This is on a stock usdm b16a just with head studs. |
