Searched - Can you use a bleeder valve as a Boost Controller?
I've searched on the proper way to hook up a boost controller. I have a line coming from a nipple on my intake manifold goin to the bottom port of my tial wastegate. I have a 0.4bar spring (about 6psi). I put inline a manual bleeder type valve. I have done everything short of closing the darn valve, and my boost stil stays at 6psi.
So are you not able to use bleeder type valves? Are only manual type valves used? Am i hooking it up wrong?
I'm just trying to get to 10psi is all. Thanks
Danny

bleeder valves are a shadetrees way of not getting a cel light when boosting more than the ecu can handle. To increase your boost, you need an actual boost controller. turbo xs sells them for a little over 100 and you can boost as much as you need.

mbcbleeder valves work. i made one and it works great. i run off the compressor nipple to the inlet nipple of the mbc and the outlet to the wg actuator. the needle valve is on one end of the t and if it's closed i get 6psi and the more it's opened the more the turbo has to spin (ie: boost) before the wg sees the pressure to open. i run 10psi daily, but 6psi with it shut. i went this route b/c ball/spring could stick and overboost and bleeders have no moving parts to cause overboosting
