Of course it's been done... What in the world do you mean by "what kind of fab"?
You will need to either buy a DIY log manifold kit or build one from scratch. It's extremely easy to do - but from the looks of your questions - it's beyond your skill set. It's all in the "clocking" really. You can even make an adapter for the manifold you already have... quite simple.

Yeah its dumb easy to do. I did it with pure junk that was laying around our shop. Like homie said its all about the clocking of the individual parts and turbo. I did it in a crx with a stock radiator. I did have to move both my fans to the front of the radiator. They fit perfectly between the intercooler and radiator.

I am not going to lie... that litteraly made me burst out laughing. Not only that, but that is Signature worthy and for the first time ever I am going to quote somebody else other than myself. I am pretty sure my life is complete now, thank you!

lol. you will be alot better off with running a eg half rad and making that fit buy cutting your cross member. I tried to do the full rad till I took a nice hard look and realized it would be a complete bitch to ever work on anything near the turbo lol. the half rad I have in my setup now works great and still has a very oem look to how its fit in there.
