Scat rods? anyone running these or know anytihng about them?
Hey guys, i got a set of Scat rods for my B16 from a friend. I was wondering if these were good for boost, and if they are good in general as in quality and will it actually handle 400-500HP? Anyone have any experience with these? thanks-Jon

Scat Rods are rebranded Eagle rods...
They will handle 400-500hp and have great reliability within that power range...

I run scat rods in my D16, with a low compression Vitara setup.
They love boost and horsepower. They can handle it......

I am currently building my b16 using the scat h beam. They look identical to eagles but, whether or not they are rebranded eagles, i do not know.
Friend has had success with them in his DSM.
Take it for what it's worth.
I am using them and if they fail it's on me. i spent the money i live with the consequences.

I run scat h beams in my stroked gsr, rev to 9200 without a problem. there good for about 650whp but thats really pushing it. some people have made more but idk how long they lasted. as stated above 500whp range will be extremely reliable

To the OP......search. Scat rods have been around for a LONG time and there are many quite a few threads on them. Most consider them to be on par with eagle rods. They have made rods for VW's for a long time, so long in fact that my dad who owned a bug shop used them in his builds (this was 20+ years ago).

They certainly seem like rebranded eagle rods just like the manley h beams and the tuner toys and a few others all look to be eagles rebranded but who knows for sure. ive had both eagle and scat and there pretty much identical rods

I have used scat in domestic builds with great success. Mostly mustangs but they have handled some good beatings.
