Dear lord! Your rod. lol

Why did you use stock rods on the other motor anyway if you had it all apart to do sleeves?

haha thanks, its my new paper weight! lol.

Those are stock pistons and rods. The Built/Sleeved motor i had in my car blew up thanks to some detonation. so just for ***** i took everything off it and put it onto this BONE STOCK b18a1 with 157K on it out of some DA we did a swap on. we just put it in to see what we could do with it STOCK.

I didnt even get to drive it on the street. it blew on the dyno. Had a Nasty Rod knock haha

I had a Stock b16 mani and TB then i swapped it out for a Ported b16 and 68mm TB.

I was driving on the highway doing 60mph and a e55 benz rolled up next to me with some Rich *** Club new ****in haircut homos and they were trying to **** with me flooring it and lettin off n waving to my GF n **** so after he hit it i got on it and pulled like 15 cars instantly 3-4th gear it was running fine until around 7500-8k top of 4 and then it started popping n shut off. luckily the exit to my house was right there i just coasted to the top of the ramp n turned it back on and it was on 3 cylinders

i was getting a retune monday and this was sat night sunday morning.

Yes i know better and its my stupidity that caused it but people like that just **** me off ya kno.

Anyways i wasnt really that pist cuz i have a 84.5x89mm in the works and that motor had about 10k miles of pure abuse lol

Reving to 8k on an LS did that lol. No oil squirters, higher rod ratio = LS Fail.

From what I can interpret he is stating that he has an LS/VTEC b16/b18b. That Can rev to 8000rpms. There are a multitude of factors that could attribute to this demise, where the OP needs to give a LOT of information before we can determine anything.

I think the pictures are from the second engine blown on the dyno. However post some info on setup when bent rods such as boost psi fuel psi injector setup,.... bla... bla... bla...

yea it was a turbo ls/vtec stock bottome end. the rods are from the completly stock motor. we just did it for ***** to see what we could get outta a stock bottom end ls vtec.

i had it on 7lbs for awhile and it was quick, but i only had the rev limitter set at 7500, and since the turbo didnt really put out peak boost until 5200rpm. so by the time the car started pulling hard it was barly in the powerband for 2 seconds lol. so we said f-it n raised the rev limiter to 8k...whops lol

reviing it to 8k did NOT do that.. i know alot of people that rev there completely stock lsvtec or b20 vtecs to 8500+.. the rod bending like that is obviously a shitty tune.. alot of people are making 350+ on stock ls/vtec setups.. you sould talk to your tuner about that because only 8000 rpms did not cause that..

There's actually some people ballsy enough to run a bone-stock LS at 400whp. And FYI the 'incredably low' RS ratio is practically a non-issue. I'd almost guess it was all the extra friction cause from the excessive blowby washing oil away in a 20+ yr old block.

Given your motor's fate, I'd have to say the laugh was on you. You're lucky the rod decided NOT to liberate itself from the crank and shove the free piston right into the open valves.

He said he swapped the IM and TB without retuning and did a hwy pull killing his motor.

What I got was he killed his previous motor which is where the rod came from ... and the dyno is from his current "stock block" set up.

how about stock b16b rods are they weak also for boosted engine application? b16b engine revs high.. How much power can handle the oem b16b rods?

New tuner, HA, You see that powerband?

Remember this is a b18a1, not a b18b. and its on a dyno dynamics dyno, so if u calculate in 10% or so gain it would be somewhat around 350.

The rod bending like that is from 12psi out of an 6152e wit some e85. high Cylider pressure and rpm on a stock rods :/. EVERY motor is DIFFERNT.

Thats why i said this was a JOKE, like hahaha we blew up a piece of **** ls motor, YAY!!!! Joke Ya know? and if it slung a rod tho the block and a piston straight thro my hood i would have Laughed even HARDER!!!!

Anyone wanna see the video of when it blew up?
