sc34 three oil seals and still leak
i change the seal 3 times the last one stagered gap and the exhaust housing still filling with oil and the car smoking pretty bad.
Maybe a bad center section where the seal run? Sugestions please.
I sell this turbo to a friend now i have to respond.

Re: sc34 three oil seals and still leak
Are you changing the seal yourself, or having a professional do it?
If your doing it yourself maybe your making a mistake....
Also how does the feed/ drain set up look?
precision reccomends a -3 or -4 feed wide open with no restrictor, but it has been proven time and time again that they are wrong, and they NEED to have a .065 restrictor on them.
And your return line should be a -10 that has no flow restrictions, no kinks, and only a smooth bend, also be sure the return enters the oil pan above the oil level.
My bet is it has something to do with the feed or return line, and not the seal....

Re: sc34 three oil seals and still leak
1) Check oil feed/return line for the correct size or any kinks within the system
2) make sure no 90 degree angles are on your return line
3) check oil pressure at the line, to see if a restrictor is needed. listening to general info doesn't help.
without that, nor pictures of the return line an oil feed at multiple angles, no one can help.. seriously.

Re: sc34 three oil seals and still leak
it's normal the fitting on the pan spill oil when the line is disconected?
because all the time you disconect the line the oil come out and not stop for
a good time.
i have no camera i try to put some cell photos tomorrow.

Re: sc34 three oil seals and still leak
there's a possible that the center section it's cloged?
if you blow air with your mouth by the oil feed it's hardly to pass?
.065" restrictor it's already installed

Re: sc34 three oil seals and still leak
I think I'm done.. I've given the suggestions required to ensure what needs to be done. That doesn't mean that there could be bluing on the shaft, showing that its warped and a new sealing ring may not be installed.
Until you show the pictures as otherwise suggested to at least narrow things down, there's nothing more we can do. No one can assume that simply changing a sealing ring on an entire cartridge that was taken apart was done correctly.
