SAFE TO TURBO MY ALL MOTOR SETUP??
i have a b18c1 resleeved with RS sleeves with 85mm wisco 11.5:1 balance gsr crank with cunningham rods complete port and polished head and everythign is port matched im already putting down 235whp.
My questions is would it be safe to slap on the greddy turbo kit and tune it with hondata? how high could i boost on 91 or even 91 with a bottle of octane booster?

Re: SAFE TO TURBO MY ALL MOTOR SETUP?? (EgRy)
having a high comp turbo motor has been done, but one thing about doing that, its pretty risky, it leaves VERY lil room for error on tuning, its gonna have to be spot on, but it can be done, couple things that hold u back, u have a really big bore, which means very thin cylinder walls....huge bore + thin walls = , and even adding race gas isnt going to help, when you keep blowing head gaskets all the time from all of the compression in the cylinders

not really worth it, your compression is basicly too high, you could run low low boost pressures but IMO the power to cost ratio will be so low it wouldnt be worth it.
and like the other poster said, tuning will be a bitch, and great tuning will becomeprime key in the factor that you motorlives or dies
and to me, it already looks like you have a ton of money in your block to risk blowing.
build a turbo block and forget about it

as said tuning is the key and it can be done. your sleeves are fine. they are meant to hold alot of power the only thing is the comp ratio. you could run race gas to help but you also need to check on the pistons and make sure they are able to handle boost. most high comp all motor pistons say they are not boost compatible. just sell your pistons get some 9:1 or 9.5:1 put a good turbo kit with a nice sized turbo and make 500-600

I say do it. Back off on the timing and make sure it's running "rich" a little bit and you will be fine. Forged pistons have a better detonation resistance than cast ones do.

Never mind him. Don't boost your motor with such a big bore and compression.
Dual Cam Good info

You had to upload the hammer picture to a photobucket just to flame me? Idiot.
Can you explain to me why it would be a bad idea to turbo his car? I'd be willing to bet his sleeved, forged internal motor is going to hold up to hell of a lot more than most stock blocks will.
Why do people always say the tuning has to be good or spot on? Isn't this the the case no matter what?
People turbo the K20a all the time and that has 11.5:1 compression. Sure 11.5:1 isn't even close to ideal, but it will work.
I don't really know why his bore size is being brought up, seeing as his block is sleeved.

OK
Your right. My opinion nor anyone elses really doesn't matter.
F*cking boost that monster @ 36psi on 15:1 compression while your at it.
You'll hit an 8 sec 1/4 mile on street tires

That would be the easy thing to do.

Re: SAFE TO TURBO MY ALL MOTOR SETUP?? (juda7)
Several guys have gone plenty fast on 85mm bores (jason hunt) and high compression (think k series, s2k). I think the real issue is I wouldnt waste a good all motor setup on a greddy kit.

Re: SAFE TO TURBO MY ALL MOTOR SETUP?? (Boner_Ben)
I think in the next 6 months i may jsut pull out the pistons and put on a drag turbo kit or soemthing thats gunna put me up to 400+whp i just wanna kill all the evos and stis in this world. hondas are better they just dont know it yet

on another note***
I just cam accros some Toda killer cams today for a great price, how well would these things do on a daily driver im rockin the blox stage 2s right now. Curious how much more hp i can pull im already at 235 on VFAC2 <---Ya i know VFAC2 =[
